A fantastic initiative, funded by the Local Government Association of SA Research & Development Scheme, to increase awareness of volunteering amongst youth was recently completed, by the Legatus Group.
This project assisted with increasing awareness of volunteering among young South Australians as a pathway to job-ready skills, employment, and lifelong learning, wellbeing and development. It has also enabled some youth in the region to be better equipped in handling issues amongst their peers with regards to wellbeing and suicide.
The project has generated:
- A research report on how to build a culture for encouraging regional youth volunteering; and
- a number of promotional videos.
