Over 200 kids have put their ideas to paper to help shape SA’s Volunteering Strategy for South Australia 2021-2027. A range of primary and secondary students were surveyed to find out their experiences and opinions about volunteering.
The greatest motivation for kids to volunteer between the ages of 9-11 was to ‘try new things’ and to ‘focus on the meaning and why you’re doing it and what a difference it could make.’ With 71% of students had already experienced volunteering through their school.
Where 95% of students aged between 11-19 saw the value of volunteering with helping them develop job ready skills and learning about working with different kinds of people.
