The Volunteering Strategy for South Australia Partnership Board is pleased to announce Christel Mex as the newly appointed Independent Chair, bringing significant experience to the role.
Following 30 years of service in the South Australian public sector, Christel completed a PhD with Flinders University. Her research topic was to explore problems facing volunteer leaders on boards and committees of grassroots organisations.
Christel’s other qualifications include a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts. Her previous career included executive roles at the Adelaide Festival Centre, State Library, the Department of the Premier and Cabinet, Department for Environment and the Office for Volunteers.
In her spare time, Christel is also a Councillor with the City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters, an active volunteer in her local community.
The Board also pays tribute to the outgoing Chair, Ms Janet Stone. Janet was highly valued by the board and provided insights, experience and support, over her three year term.
